An extremely introverted on-screen character featuring in a modern melodic says she is glad to speak to the extreme introvertedness community and teach others on the disability.
Katie Cailean was analyzed with extreme introvertedness as a young person and says she is drawing on her claim lived encounter to bring realness to the role.
Katie is making her proficient theater make a big appearance in the melodic Indigo at the Bend Theater in Leicester.
She plays Emma, a non-speaking extremely introverted young person with synaesthesia – a neurological condition found to upgrade memory and learning – who has to alter to a modern family set-up.
Originally from Glasgow, Katie graduated from The Italia Conti Institute of Theater Expressions in 2023.
“It feels truly pleasant to speak to a bunch of individuals who aren’t regularly spoken to really in the theater,” she says of her part in Indigo. “It’s truly cool.”
Indigo offers the story of three eras of ladies all from the same family who come together after the grandma Elaine is analyzed with Alzheimer’s and moves back into the family domestic with girl Beverly and granddaughter Emma.
Katie includes that guests come to see the appear and each have their possess individual person association to the story.
“Some individuals say they’re coming into it with one specific point, perhaps with a family part who is managing with Alzheimer’s, or they might know somebody who is extremely introverted or maybe do not know almost autism.
“People are coming to it and learning something unused from this story, which is important.”
Scott Evan Davis composed the melodies in the melodic and says he does not need the full center to be on Katie’s character but how she employments her incapacity to teach others.
“I need this to be a story approximately a family, recuperating, associations – with a character who happens to be autistic.
“Emma is fine who she is, and everyone else fair needs to get on the same page. I continuously say it’s around a story of a young lady who has a difficult time communicating, but she instructs others how to. That’s the kind of story I needed to tell.”
